JESSE

Jesse is scheduled for a kidney transplant in February. In late Jan of last year he went to the Dr. for bronchitis. His blood pressure was very high. (180 over 110) The Dr. felt it might have been the over the counter meds he had been taking so he gave us antibiotics and said to come back in 1 week to check again. It was the same which prompted a blood and urine test that revealed protein in both. He went through cat-scan, ultra sounds, arterior grams and finally a biopsy of the kidneys. On March 2 2004 we received the diagnosis of focal glomersclorisis. We were told that 50% of patients will need a transplant sometime in their lives. I felt that we would be in the 50% who did not. I was wrong. His kidneys went into total failure in 4 months. He had be hospitalized on July 6 and have an emergency access put in for immediate dialysis. Later that month he was hospitalized again to have his regular access put into his stomach.

Through it all he has a very good attitude. He fells that the lord will use this in some way. His faith and attitude are amazing and I am very proud. He is a senior in high school. He is in the band and plays the drums for the past 5 years. He is an officer in the FFA and has won state championships in both 4-H and the Tennessee Saddle Club shows.
